The Certified Nursing Assistant program has been developed to prepare the individual presently employed or seeking employment as a Certified Nursing Assistant in Long Term Care.  Our course follows the New Jersey Department of Health and Senior Services 90 hour approved training program.

Students will attend 90 hours of training consisting of fifty (50) hours of classroom instruction and fourty (40) hours of hands on clinical experience in a long-term care facility. Successful completion of a New Jersey State Department of Health and Senior Services approved training program provides the student with the opportunity to qualify to become a Certified Nursing Assistant and become gainfully employed in the long term care industry. Students are expected to become responsible caregivers using the basic knowledge and skills acquired to provide responsible care to residents.

Purpose of Course

• To provide the care giver with the basic knowledge and skills needed to care for residents in long-term care facilities.

• To prepare the student to assume the responsibilities of a trained care giver.

• To prepare the student to successfully complete and pass a competency evaluation consisting of a skills and written/oral examination.

 

Requirements

• Complete school application

• Photo ID

• COVID-19 Vaccination Record

• Tuberculosis Screening- 2 Step PPD test/ Mantoux test or Quantiferon Gold test

• Criminal Background Check/Fingerprinting ( school will provide forms upon enrollment)

        *Flu shot may be required during Flu Season as per clinical facility policy
