The Certified Medication Aide course prepares the student with the clinical skills and theory they will need to be able to administer medications in the assisted living setting.
Purpose of the Course
1. To provide the student with the knowledge they require administering medications in assisted living facilities and comprehensive Personal Care Homes, or within an Assisted Living Program. Competencies and Pre-Requisites Prior to acceptance into this program, the candidate must have six (6) months experience as a NJ Certified Nursing Assistant or PCA.
This thirty (30) hour program is designed to prepare select qualified candidates for the responsibility of administering medication, under the circumstances when a registered nurse delegates this task. Course is conducted in Department of Health and Senior Services approved facilities.
